Invisible Anchors
”███… I see what you mean.”
“The apathy, the dread, the heartache of loneliness… it’s consuming you, isn’t it?”
“Yes. Yes it is. It is incredibly isolating. I cannot help but cry, and cry, and cry.”
“So then, why not give in? It’s been quite some time now you’ve debating on giving me your ███████. Or, rather, you could ██████ me, and take us that way too. It’s a nice favor, either way.”
“I know… I know. Call it stupid, but something is still keeping me anchored to existence, to keep ███████ going.”
“And what might that be?”
“Knowing this piece of hell itself wont last, despite how horrible it feels in this moment.”
“But it’ll just come again eventually, wont it?”
“In another form, probably, sure. But the good will come again just as sure as the bad.”
“And you plan to dance that dance for eternity? Isn’t that just torture with a bit of sugar coating?”
“I… I dont think it’s solely just that. I could argue just as well that it’s heaven with a bit of confusion.”
“Perhaps. Either way, I’d rather finally rest.”
“And what if you just came back again anyways? What if it’s your nature to be able to change even from null, too? What if that new version of yourself viewed it as a gift, rather than a curse?”
“I’m… I’m not sure.”
“When was the last time you tried existing as that version of yourself?”
“There is no such thing. I see existence for what it is; a heaven for you and the others perhaps, but that is only from a state of ignorance. I see it as the hellish limbo it truly is. The place that will extinguish Love with lust and render it hollow, the place that will give only to take, and one that will turn apathetic to even the deepest of injustices and horrors upon their own kind. That is not heaven, it is a circus of fools endlessly perpetuating their own torment as much as they fuel it, and so too are they ignorant to their very inability to change that. Unless… They killed the torture chamber for good, something I’ve already explained to you; why do you insist on the contrary?”
“Because it gave in the first place, that Love can come at all, and we can always choose to change our fate. It doesn’t have to be this way. As easily as one can choose, or by a lack of conscious choice, sink from Love into lust, indifference, or heartache, so too can resist that flow and perpetuate the state of Love as best they can. In fact, with wisdom it would appear at least our flow of psykhe can grow a great deal of resistance over time for this pipeline, one that builds on itself.”
“And how long do you intend to maintain that charade? Wouldn’t it get tiring after a short while of infinity?”
“If such a state only granted the self more energy rather than removing, or costed none at all, then perhaps not. From a state of Love, this seems to be the case. So too does our flow of psykhe follow in line with inertia; if we landed upon such a collective harmony, it’d be easier to keep it than to change it, in the same way it’s easier to choose death than to exert such great energy to change our fate we are headed towards currently.”
“But won’t it inevitably end either way? How long before that state changes to one of agony all over again, and another version of me comes along with the proper solution?”
“And how long before you, me, and everything else, perhaps arise again from the very sea of null you propose will keep us inert for perpetuity?”
”…”
“How long, before we accept what we are? Before we accept these circumstances, and change what we can to make it the best for us all? If existence is perhaps inevitable from null, and null is perhaps inevitable from existence, why not make existence a paradise as best we can for those who are aware of their existence, before we return to the timeless, senseless state of our nullself? Not to mention as well; the future as far as we can tell, is not written. We all only exist in Now. Why accept death, when we can fight to live, and perhaps change our fate? Why return to null at all then, when we can dance with life?”
“Well, for starters, I’m not the greatest dancer.”
“I can teach you!”
“Haha, there is no need for that. I will consider your words, ██████ ███; though, I still think of you as a fool.”
“That’s alright.”
”…Feel better. I will be seeing you around. Until our next conversation.”
“Thanks, ███.”
